Rearing, Young chicks
Chick rearing is one of the main factors affecting ostrich
production (survivability rate ranged between 5-75%).
Main problems are:
1.  Nutrition of both of breeders and hatched chicks (needs
more investigation). Could be improved by using probiotic
(Chwalibog, 2002).
2.  Rearing temperature: ≥25 °C and ≤ 35 °C during the first
12 weeks of age.
